Vegetarian’s Dream!

I’m so happy I found out about Nutrisystem’s vegetarian plan. I have never liked meat, my whole life, but my idea of being vegetarian usually had little to do with veggies! I am so used to eating tons of pasta, bread, and chips and types of stuff like that, that I never really got the nutrition I needed. Needless to say, I packed on the pounds! Someone mentioned there was this veggie friendly plan with Nutrisystem and I was intrigued.

 

Boy was I excited to see pasta on the menu! LOL. But seriously, there are tons of healthy options and I’m getting plenty of vegetables and satisfaction. I really love the hearty minestrone, since it is full of, you guessed it, pasta, and yummy beans and veggies in a nice flavored sauce. And let’s not forget the fettucine alfredo! I can hardly believe I’m writing this review AND I’m able to tell you I’ve lost 10 pounds already! I’ve been on Nutrisystem for about 6 weeks. That’s the great part too, I’m not dropping pounds too fast, since I’ve heard so much about how that is unhealthy for you. Nutrisystem really is a tasty and effective way to get healthy and lose weight.

The Girlfriend is Veggie, so I am Too

I hate to admit that I have become vegetarian because of love, but it is true. My girlfriend is very passionate about vegetarian causes, so I have come to love her ideas too. The problem? I can’t cook. I started eating mostly junk because I had no idea what to do. So, I honestly tried Nutrisystem just to give me meal ideas, now I’m hooked because I happen to also feel amazing and look great too!

 

My girlfriend keeps laughing that the benefits of vegetarianism far “outweigh” the negatives. I guess that’s supposed to be funny? I don’t know, but what I do know is that I’m having an awesome time trying new foods. The only problem is that I was never a huge sweets guy, so the days I’m supposed to have a candy bar style food for lunch, I’m not too thrilled. (I usually grab a salad somewhere instead and give the bar to a co-worker, who is usually REALLY excited those days.)

 

I highly recommend the Nutrisystem vegetarian plan, even for someone who may not be vegetarian, but is interested in trying it out. It is really hard to get all the appropriate nutrition you need on an all-veggie plan, so Nutrisystem takes away the guesswork.

 

 

Pretty Good Vegetarian Food

The Nutrisystem vegetarian plan is something I thought I’d try since I’m a rather overweight vegetarian. But – I would much prefer some of the foods I am used to making. The only problem? Most of my meals were deep fried and covered in sauces. So. I guess it’s time for the old lifestyle change.

 

The vegetarian food is actually pretty good considering it is sooo healthy for you. I like that the meals are balanced and that I don’t have to think about them. It’s pretty convenient that way. I have to say, I have lost a good amount of weight so far, about 10 pounds in one month. That’s a good number according to my doctor.

 

Mostly my family is happy I’m trying something like this for my health. I think when I decided to become a vegetarian they thought I’d all of a sudden be Mr. Super Healthy. I think that is one of the things about vegetarianism – there is still a lot of room to make bad decisions, even if you are not eating tons of red meat and stuff. Some of the meals are pretty creative, like the rice with veggie sausage. Since I used to be a meat eater, it’s nice to get the fake stuff.

 

 

A great option for vegetarians

I’m a vegetarian, and I also happen to be a man who is not fond of spending tons of time in the kitchen. Since I’m single, I tend to have to fend for myself and I was doing a lot of take-out and fast food. Too many nights of nachos, and I’m 20 pounds heavier than I’d like to be.

 

So, I thought I’d try a diet, but I can’t stand fake food or powders, that stuff is just so bad for you. The vegetarian option from Nutrisystem is great though, it really gets all the food groups and provides enough protein, which can sometimes be a problem for veggies like me. I know a lot of veggies who are not really healthy and have some serious health problems (not just overweight) because they have trouble getting the right mix of nutrition.

 

Nutrisystem takes care of that for you, so it’s great. I just started a few weeks ago, and am glad to say I’ve already dropped 8 pounds, which I’m pleased with. I also feel lighter and more energetic, which I think is because I’m getting much healthier food in my system with Nutrisystem.

 

 

The best thing ever for veggies!

I am so happy I found this system. Okay, well , my wife did, and then I was all mad at her because I wasn’t going to go on a diet just because she told me to, and then she just ordered the Nutrisystem vegetarian option for herself and I started eating the food off her plate. Needless to say, she was a bit upset when she found out her chocolate muffin for breakfast was gone. Man, I have not lived that one down. Anyway, she ordered me my OWN meal plan, and we are loving it. We have both lost weight (she lost 10 pounds, I’ve lost 15, which she is also not too thrilled about, but she’s a lot smaller than me already.)

My favorite meals are the vegetarian fajitas and the pizzas – they feel like “cheat” food, even though they are super healthy. Plus, I love that it is all vegetarian and really balanced nutritionally – veggies have a hard time getting the right mix of foods (me and the wife know – we used to drink tons of juice and eat tons of fruit, which can really pack on the pounds if you are not careful.)

 

 

Great system to get healthy and lose weight

I’m not a vegetarian really, but I’ve always thought I would be much healthier if I ate a vegetarian diet. I think it’s true, because so far I feel super healthy on the Nutrisystem vegetarian plan. Although my doctor recommended I taper off on the meats and eat eggs and maybe fish as a transition, which I do sometimes, I feel like I am so much healthier eating high quality carbs and mostly vegetables. It just feels like the right way to eat, plus the more research I do on meats, the more I feel like they are not for me.

 

I really like the food, although the breakfasts are a little too sweet for me sometimes. I like muffins every once in a while, but not too often. I would rather have something a bit more hearty, like the oatmeal or the egg frittata, but I think not too many vegetarians eat eggs, I’m not sure. I’m just happy I have a good guideline for this transition I’m making and hopefully I’ll be able to do this on my own one day and I’m happy Nutrisystem has given me this jump-start.

If you are vegetarian and trying to lose weight, or are a meat-eater who is not sure if the veggie lifestyle is for you, I highly recommend going with the Nutrisystem vegetarian food plan. This is because it has the best proportions of food in nutritionally balanced meals, so that you can be assured you are getting the highest quality food you can if you are hoping to losing weight, or making the sometimes difficult transition away from being a meat eater. You will definitely feel full on these meals, and you will know you are getting good quality. You can supplement your food with other veggies, dairy, and fruits that you like, so you do not just get everything from the delivery box (which is super convenient by the way!)

 

Also, something most people don’t think of is that buying and preparing vegetarian food can be very time consuming and costly and for the price, you cannot beat Nutrisystem for its variety and quality! I mean, who can really afford to make themselves 3 square meals a day that are all different, yet tasty? That’s the advantage of Nutrisystem.

Being a vegetarian is hard work, that is, if you want to get the right amount of nutrients. I went through a phase where all I ate were bean burritos because I had no time or inclination to make something from scratch – and boy did I pay the price. Not only is it bad to have no variety in your meals, but the burritos did a number on my system. I gained a few pounds too.

The main reason I got Nutrisystem was not for weight loss, although I have lost some weight. I got it so I could get balanced nutrition as a vegetarian with a busy lifestyle. I just don’t have the time to make enough healthy food from scratch, so I’m very happy ordering it from Nutrisystem. The meal options are vast – I do not get bored at all, though some things I could live without, like granola bars – I don’t know why, I’ve never been the biggest fan. But that’s okay, I still get plenty of other foods I like.

 

I really like the soups, especially the tomato and corn chowder, it is very hearty and tastes great.

 

 

A good system, but not quite what I am looking for

My doctor mentioned that if I wanted an option for healthier food to try Nutrisystem, and I thought I’d start out with the vegetarian version, since what is healthier than veggies? I feel like some of the food is too “cooked” if that makes sense. I tend to like my vegetables really crisp, so it’s tough to get that with the pre-made meals. But I suppose that is just a quirk of mine, and I still get to supplement my meals with other veggies I like, so it’s all good. I just wish I got a bit more things like stir-fry, but I like the pasta dishes, they are really satisfying, like the fettucine alfredo, that is good and has a creamy sauce that is almost like the “real” thing.

 

I think the desserts are my favorite, since I’m a huge chocolate fan – I love the chocolate pudding and the chocolate bar – really surprising to have on a diet menu.

 

I think that I would like a bit more food variety, but overall, the Nutrisystem plan is very good. It is balanced and healthy, which is the most important thing I think, since so many diet plans have weird fake food.

 

 

A great idea!

I am a vegetarian and I have struggled for years with my weight – I thought becoming vegetarian would really help with that, but it did not. It turns out there are plenty of unhealthy things to eat as a vegetarian. What I had NO idea about was that there was something like Nutrisystem available until I saw a buddy of mine eating these great meals every day. I asked him how he could afford such variety of meals, and he mentioned it was actually the Nutrisystem vegetarian meal plan. I had no idea they delivered entire supplies of food to your door. It makes sense though, especially for someone with my busy lifestyle.

 

Oh yeah, and I’ve lost a ton of weight! 20 pounds in 3 months! I can’t believe it. I think Nutrisystem has saved me money on my food, but cost me a lot more in a new wardrobe!  But that’s an expense I don’t mind paying, especially since being healthier I can expect my health care costs to stay low since I am lowering my chance of debilitating diseases! I really love this plan and am going to stick with it.

It is so difficult to find ways to get enough food that is healthy as a vegetarian. Vegetables are expensive, and preparing great meals from scratch can take tons of time. I feel like it is easy for vegetarians to get stuck in a food rut and just eat the same thing, which is not healthy. I know that was true for me.

 

I ended up drinking coffee and having vending machine snacks for lunch at work every day, and then having a huge meal at night when I got home. This technique packed on the pounds! But Nutrisystem has helped me take them off! I’m really happy about this.

 

My only gripe is about breakfast, which I wish had a few more hearty options – I love the cereals, the apple cinnamon oatmeal, and egg frittatas, those really hit the spot. The muffins are growing on me, especially the double chocolate muffin, but I don’t find the bars all that filling, except for the Apple Strudel Bar.

 

The lunches and dinners are great – lots of soups which I feel are really hearty and healthy. I like the cream of broccoli especially – it’s creamy, but not too heavy – so you don’t feel weighed down after a meal.

 

 

Finally, a diet solution for vegetarians!

I was so excited when my wife told me about this plan and we decided we would both try the Nutrisystem vegetarian option. We’ve been trying to get healthier the last few years and recently made the switch to becoming vegetarians. At first we did not know how to make enough great food and become bored with some of our food. My wife did a little research and ordered a month’s supply for both of us. I am so glad she did! The food is delicious and the variety is amazing! There is no way we’d be able to make all the different meals we keep getting. (We’ve been on Nutrisystem for 3 months so far!)

 

We love the pizzas and the vegetable lasagna with basil tomato sauce. Pretty much anything with a cream sauce we will like. My wife loves the muffins in the morning, and I love that there are salty snacks as well as sweet ones. Best of all, we like the weight loss. We are steadily losing weight and exercising and together we’ve lost a combined 40 pounds! Hard to believe, but we are loving the plan and are going to stick with it.

 

 

Diet food? Doesn’t seem like it!

As a single guy who is also a vegetarian, I find it tough to take care of all my food needs buying and preparing food for one. So much of my food was going to waste, and my eating habits were not all that great.

 

My body image is really important to me, and I’m pretty athletic, so weight loss was not my primary reason for going on the plan, but I have to admit I’m a bit more chiseled than I was before and my daily runs are so much easier. I do have to supplement a bit of food here and there because I tend to burn so many calories working out, but there is plenty of room in the plan to do that, and I’ve worked it out with a nutritionist who actually recommended this plan to me as someone who needed an easy solution for meals on the go.

 

The food is really good, way better than anything I could make myself, so I’m really happy. Also, I never made room for dessert before, so it’s kind of nice to get a treat and not feel bad about it. I like the peppermint patties and the walnut cookies.

 

 

You have to try this if you are a vegetarian

If you are a vegetarian and are wondering how you can lose weight and get all the nutrition you need to stay healthy, you should really give Nutrisystem a shot. Trust me, as a guy who has tried everything to lose weight and keep it off, I think this is the best plan I’ve ever found. Not only is it convenient, but it’s REAL FOOD. You would not believe all the time I have spent making chalky shakes that taste awful and leave me hungry. Nutrisystem is real food, so you are satisfied and don’t go seeking “seconds” which just add more weight.

 

I have lost 5 pounds so far, but that is really good for me. Like I said, with all my dieting, my metabolism has gotten kind of messed up, and my doctor says I may have a bit slower time losing weight, but that it will definitely happen. The good thing is that I know I’m getting enough food. I used to eat too few calories, which is apparently not the way to lose weight! Who knew?! You have to right get amount of calories. Too little OR too many can make you gain weight.

 

 

Good plan if you have to pick one

I’m vegetarian, I’ve always hated meat, but as a result I’ve becoming a big cheese lover and eat tons of carb heavy snacks and meals. My doctor told me that I have to stop this and recommended I try the Nutrisystem vegetarian plan. The first thing I noticed was it had way more vegetables than I ever used to eat! I guess that is not really a good thing, considering I called myself a vegetarian. People probably wondered how I could be so unhealthy, but it’s because my meals were nowhere near as balanced and healthy as the Nutrisystem meals.

 

I miss my cheese and crackers for sure, but I’m getting used to those Buffalo Wing Pretzel Sticks! They are actually pretty good. I just have to get used to eating a bit less than I used to. That’s okay, as I’m trying to pay attention to what I eat and how I eat instead of just rushing and scarfing down tons of food as if I’m sleep-eating.

I really like the BBQ Soy Chips and chocolate crunch bar. The meals are good, but like I said, they are not what I would prefer and tend to like things more flavorful.

 

 

A great vegetarian option

For a vegetarian who has never gotten the meal thing down, I highly recommend the Nutrisystem vegetarian plan. What I mean is, I never used to eat actual meals. It was coffee for breakfast, a shake for lunch, and then some kind of dinner which was usually some form of nachos with cheese and maybe a salad if I was lucky. Yeah – that was the best way to get some extra weight around the middle, if you are interested in knowing!

 

But seriously, I needed to find a way to eat right and lose weight. I saw a commercial for Nutrisystem and checked it out, and was thrilled to find out they had a vegetarian version! I immediately ordered and have not been disappointed. The meals are great. The breakfasts are delicious, and I love having a muffin with my coffee in the morning, it makes me feel like I’m starting the day right. For lunch, I get some great options too, and am always adding a small salad or carrot sticks into the mix for freshness. I love the soups and the fettuccini alfredo.

 

I like the addition of tofu and foods like the sloppy joe – so it feels like I’m getting some good quality protein and variety to my meals.

 

 

I like the meals!

The best thing about the Nutrisystem vegetarian plan is the variety of the meals. What I mean is that I get something totally new every day. I cannot say I ever put that much effort into getting variety into my meals, and I think that is why I used to feel sluggish and was overweight. I used to eat whatever I had around the house and never seemed satisfied, and would end up grazing all the time on junk. I put on about 20 pounds I really wanted to get rid of.

 

I started Nutrisystem 2 months ago and have lost 12 pounds already! I am really pleased with the progress, but like I said, the meal variety is the best! I like that I am getting 3 solid meals a day, but can still have a few snacks to satisfy the “grazer” in me. I really like the BBQ soy chips and the Buffalo Wing pretzels. They have a zing that is satisfying. I like the lunches and dinners too, especially creamy tomato and cream of broccoli soups, they taste great! I also like the veggie lasagna, it is delicious and filling. I think all vegetarians looking to lose some weight should give Nutrisystem a go.

 

 

A great way to lose weight and get healthy

As a non-vegetarian trying out a vegetarian meal plan, I’m actually really pleased with the results. I might switch to the regular plan eventually, but I am really going to give the whole vegetarian thing a try. I think it is so important to be healthy, since I recently had a bit of a health scare and I’m really trying to change my old ways.

 

I have about 50 pounds to lose, according to my doctor, and I’m halfway there! I have been on Nutrisytem for three months and I think it has really helped accelerate my weight loss, which was slow for a while. My doctor recommended I get on some kind of regular diet so I can be sure I’m getting the right nutrients and I think this is definitely working for me. The meals are great and healthy. I just think there are too many sweet treats and would rather skip breakfast to have more lunch and dinner, but my doc says this is mostly because my body is still getting used to some changes. I hope she is right. Otherwise I’m really pleased with the plan.

 

 

Forced Diet

My wife forced this diet on me and having never been vegetarian before, this forced diet with a vegetarian twist was too much for me. I dream of red meat now and can’t wait for this thing to be over. Why do we get married?!

 

 

The best I have found to lose weight

Both my wife and I made New Year’s resolutions to get in shape, so we ordered Nutrisystem and are just a few weeks in, but we are loving it so far! We have both steadily lost weight the last two weeks. I have lost 5 pounds, and she lost 4. We are so excited because we have tried a lot of different things, including shakes and powders that do not work, and now I’m hearing some really negative things about them.

 

I have to say, I was surprised to see a thick crust pizza for dinner one night! It was delicious and really satisfying. (I wish all the pizzas were like that, because the other ones seem smaller to me somehow.) My wife LOVES the fact we still get dessert! She has been looking at our empty freezer, longing for ice cream, but no more. She and I can share a little sweet treat at the end of the day, or sit down and have a muffin or granola bar with our morning juice and coffee. This might sound strange, but Nutrisystem has brought us together more! We have really aligned our health goals together.

 

 

Save your money, and skip the hamburger!

I have never felt better in my life! Meals this delicious make it easy to forget the hamburger! I have wanted to switch to the vegetarian lifestyle for a long time and just felt super intimidated about what the heck I would be able to eat! I was afraid it would be carrot sticks and tofu every day. Not so!

 

With Nutrisystem I am getting so much variety, plus I am saving money by not having to buy so much meat at the grocery store – wow, that used to add up. So it is actually more cost-effective for me to get super easy to eat meals every day with tons of variety and still save money! I never thought that would be possible with convenience foods, but on Nutrisystem it is. I also have learned how to make some pretty good salads and side dishes to complement my meals. I particularly like the Mexican tortilla soup, and the pasta and pizza dishes. They are great! I also like the breakfast options, which I used to skip in the past. The cereals are great and filling, which I never thought was possible. OH yeah, and I’ve lost 10 pounds already!

 


Not For Strict Vegetarians

I’m a really strict vegetarian and signed up for the plan before viewing the menu. Turns out a couple of the dishes contain egg. Don’t they know that really, really strict vegetarians don’t eat egg? Wish I had actually read the info on their site before purchasing.
